Senate and House Moving on "Jack's Bill"

We have much to celebrate! We are so excited to share with you that our bill, also known as “Jack’s Bill”, passed Georgia's Senate Insurance Committee unanimously yesterday! This marks the biggest victory to date for deaf and hard of hearing children in Georgia! We are blessed to be working alongside LET GEORGIA HEAR to help Georgia's children.

Senator PK Martin is graciously sponsoring SB206, which would require insurance companies to provide coverage for children’s hearing aids (most of them don't today). Senator Martin has been an incredible advocate, securing over 20 senators to stand as co-sponsors!

We have also been working with Representative Brad Raffensperger to introduce this legislation in the Georgia House of Representatives during this session. Representative Raffensperger laid the groundwork for this movement by first introducing the bill in the House. We are so grateful for his support and tremendous work in sponsoring HB228, as we all work toward the same future for Georgia's children.

These bills still have a long way to go over the next couple of weeks. Please pray specifically that the bills will pass in both the Senate and the House in this session. In addition, if you feel led, we would greatly appreciate you sending a letter of thanks and gratitude to Senator Martin and Representative Raffensperger for their hard work in supporting all children and their right to hear!
